Rock hills, ponds and pavilions crowd this walled garden, created as a private retreat during the Ming dynasty. White plaster walls, dark tile roofs, carved windows and a nine-turn bridge divide the grounds into small views. The garden’s compact paths make each turn reveal a different scene.
