Central Park

Its lawns, lakes and winding paths were laid out in the 19th century by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, replacing a rocky, marshy tract with a designed landscape. Look for exposed bedrock, the cast-iron Bow Bridge and Bethesda Terrace beneath its arcade.
