El Tovar

Its roofline combines a Swiss chalet with a Norwegian villa, an unusual choice for a hotel on the canyon rim. The Santa Fe Railway and Fred Harvey Company built it in 1905 from native stone and timber, with a broad, low form above the South Rim.
