Pelmeni

The name for these dumplings came from the Komi and Udmurt languages, whose food traditions give pelmeni deep roots. Each one encloses a filling in thin, unleavened dough. They became a staple of Russian cuisine during expansion through the Ural Mountains and Siberia.
